I believe that knowledgable young people will change the world for the better!
I am Lado and I would like to tell you about the important and enjoyable steps I have taken to become a leader of the youth club.
I will start with the fact that I am an accountant by profession. Although I was well versed in technical subjects, the profession of an accountant never attracted me, so it should be no surprise that I was not fully independent in choosing a profession. I still work as an accountant.
It all started when I saw a vacancy posting on a job web site dedicated to working with young people, empowering them to succeed. I decided to send my resume, but I was thinking about whether or not it would benefit young people because I had never been involved in a project like this.
It happened so that I was invited for an interview and I would like to point out that from the interview stage the adventure began that will be kept in my subconscious as a bright period. The interview went on successfully and pleasantly, and here I was faced with a new challenge that was so enjoyable and useful that I could not have imagined it at the beginning of the project. We, the leaders were trained by experienced trainers and we started to work motivated.
I would like to point out that each new meeting was very interesting and productive for both the youth and me. I also noticed that I grew up with young people from session to session.
Within the framework of the project we had invited experts from different fields, we had field meetings with local SME sector. They shared their experiences, methods of overcoming obstacles, and furnished us with the motivation that we could do anything if we wanted to. We also attended the national forum where young people met peers from different regions, exchanged experiences and shared the path they had passed together with the project.
I cannot help not thanking the Federal Foreign office of Germany and the German International Development Agency (GIZ) for the financial support they provided for the empowerment of our country's future - the youth. Also noteworthy is the greater role of the partners that represent WORLD VISION Georgia and SOS Children's Village.
Soon the project will come to its end, and I, as a leader happy and proud of the passed processes, believe that knowledgeable young people will change the world for the better.
