VIBEs for Youth: Vision Building, Identity, Well-being, and Employability for Youth

In Georgia, the project “VIBEs for Youth: Vision Building, Identity, Well-being, and Employability for Youth” is implemented by SOS Children’s Villages Georgia in partnership with the Kakheti Regional Development Center, the Biliki Society, and the Gori Center for Welfare and Development. The project operates in Tbilisi, Telavi, and Gori municipalities.
The project aims to maximize the individual interests and potential of vulnerable youth, increase employment opportunities for the target group in the local labor market, and provide support for their employment and self-employment.
With financial support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) & SOS Kinderdörfer weltweit, Hermann-Gmeiner-Fonds Deutschland e.V, SOS Children’s Villages Georgia is implementing a 46-month project titled “Improved socio-economic situation of families through strengthened community-based structures and and local partnerships in Georgia” (2024–2028). The local partner organization for this project is the Jvari Community Education Center.
The project aims to improve the social functioning of 120 vulnerable families with children living in the Tsalenjikha municipality, specifically in Jvari town and the village of Potskhoetseri. It also seeks to strengthen local government and non-governmental organizations working in the field of child welfare, to support the enhancement of the family support system within the Tsalenjikha municipality.
The project plans to collaborate with six public schools operating within the Tsalenjikha municipality to promote awareness of children’s rights, including protection from violence.

Promotion of healthy lifestyle in Ingiri, Zugdidi Municipality
In 2017, with financial support from the Austrian Ministry of Sports, the project “Promotion of healthy lifestyle in Ingiri, Zugdidi Municipality” was launched. The initiative focused on developing sports and play infrastructure—such as sports fields and playgrounds—in the village of Ingiri (Zugdidi Municipality), with the goal of promoting and strengthening healthy lifestyle habits among displaced children from Abkhazia living in the community
